Head of Packaging Material Supply

The Head of Packaging Material Supply provides strategic and operational leadership for the Packaging Material Supply department, leading multiple teams across printing, leaflet production, folding carton manufacturing, warehousing, and internal packaging material supply operations.

Through effective leadership and cross-functional collaboration, the Head of Packaging Material Supply is expected to shape a high-performing organization that consistently delivers packaging materials on time, at the required quality standards, and in full compliance with regulatory and business requirements. The role drives operational excellence, continuous improvement, and supply reliability across the entire packaging material value chain.

The Head of Packaging Material Supply represents the department in national and international senior management forums, fostering strong stakeholder relationships and ensuring the function's priorities, performance, and strategic objectives are effectively communicated and aligned with broader business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously optimize leadership, resources, processes, inventory levels, technological processes and work organization

  • Participating in global management meetings, representing the needs, successes and limitations of the department

  • Making strategic decisions within the Packaging Material Supply department, through fact-based, data driven methodology

  • Presenting global strategy and initiatives to the department, breaking them down into clear, achievable and motivating goals

  • Coordinate capacity/output with management team and Planning department

  • Support and strengthen cooperation between organizational units and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensuring execution of manufacturing and supply processes according to applicable SOPs

  • Monitoring manufacturing process steps and initiating necessary corrections and improvements

  • Managing projects and coordinating improvement initiatives

  • Maintaining communication with other Abacus Medicine departments and external suppliers

  • Optimizing costs, resources and capacities related to the area

  • Monitoring and improving manufacturing and supply KPIs

  • Ensuring and monitoring GMP compliant operations

  • Participating in internal and external audits and authority inspections

  • Ensuring and monitoring hygiene and safety requirements within the operational areas

  • Ensuring preparation and regular review of SOPs and other related documentation

  • Performing leadership responsibilities regarding direct and indirect reports

  • Developing employee engagement and organizational cooperation

  • Fostering a continuous feedback culture, evaluating and developing subordinates

  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement and innovation opportunities

  • Cooperating with Quality Assurance, Procurement, Production, Planning and Logistics departments

  • Coordinating the activities of managers and employees reporting to the position

The Team and Stakeholders

The Head of Packaging Material Supply directly reports to the Managing Director

Direct reports: Two senior Managers

Stakeholders : the Hungarian and global AMG leadership

The Head of Packaging Material Supply is a member of the Hungarian management team

What You shall bring

Qualifications:

College or university degree in technical or engineering field

C1 level English and Hungarian knowledge

5+ Experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain management
3-5 years’ experience in people management preferably in site management roles

Experience in GDP/GMP environment is an advantage
Experience in the packaging materials industry is an advantage.

Skills:

Strong people management and communication skills

Excellent, problem-solving, and organizational skills, having ability to work around impediments and achieve results
Resilience & change management, being comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced environments
Goal oriented personality, with ownership mindset
Data-driven decision making
