Drive meaningful change

As an Associate in Purchase PI, you will sit close to both the market and the business, playing a key role in shaping how we source and trade across Europe. This is not a back‑office position — you will actively engage with suppliers, analyse fast‑moving markets, and help turn opportunities into tangible results.

Your day‑to‑day work combines commercial analysis, relationship‑building, and negotiations, all with the shared goal of ensuring continuous supply while strengthening Abacus Medicine’s trading position. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and contribute directly to the development of new and existing markets. The role involves travel across Europe several times per year, allowing you to build strong supplier relationships face‑to‑face.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Building, maintaining, and developing strong, long‑term relationships with existing and new suppliers across Europe

• Leading and driving supplier negotiations, securing competitive sourcing prices and favourable credit terms

• Continuously monitoring and analysing sourcing markets to identify new products, suppliers, and trading opportunities

• Working closely with Purchasers, Portfolio Managers, and Project Managers to ensure optimal trading conditions

• Actively contributing to market development by opening new suppliers and establishing new supply chains

• Process & Documentation Support: Ensure relevant commercial activities are followed up on and documented, enabling smooth collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Your profile

You bring a strong commercial mindset and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment where decisions matter and timing is critical. You are motivated by responsibility and take pride in seeing your work translate into real commercial outcomes.

Additionally, we imagine that you’ll bring:

• Experience from a commercially oriented role such as sales, purchasing, or commercial operations, where stakeholder interaction and sound commercial judgement were central

• Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to translate market data and trends into well‑founded trading decisions

• Clear and confident communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both internal colleagues and external partners

• A proactive, self‑driven approach with the ability to act decisively when markets or business needs change

• A relationship‑focused mindset paired with commercial assertiveness and a focus on long‑term value creation

• A structured and independent working style, with the ability to manage time and priorities in a high‑pace environment

• Fluency in written and spoken English
