Go to Market Lead for New Markets in Pharma Trading

At Abacus Medicine, we provide life-critical medicines to hospitals and pharmacies across Europe. Within our Pharma Trading business area, we are expanding into new European markets and are looking for a Go-to-Market Lead to shape and drive this growth.
This is a senior commercial role, anchored in our Pharma Trading unit for which you will own the go-to-market decisions for new markets, ensuring entries are data-driven, executable, and commercially sound.
You will work closely with business development, sourcing, regulatory and supply chain to translate market insight into clear launch decisions.

As our Go to Market Lead, you will in close collaborate together with our Global Strategy & Business Development team create Abacus’ market entry strategy for new European markets. You will act as the commercial expert, ensuring each launch is data-driven and aligns with key objectives. This is a significant role where your work will influence how Abacus enters new markets in PI—ensuring fast, profitable, and sustainable growth.
Your main responsibilities include:
• Market Assessment & Planning: Analyze new European markets based on commercial potential, competitive landscape, and product opportunities.
• Strategy Development: Build market entry strategies, including pricing, product portfolio, sales model, and distribution options.
Develop strategic playbooks to guide local commercial teams and management decision-making.
• Go-to-Market Execution: Partner with in-house strategy teams as well as sales teams to define launch plans, pricing corridors, product focus, and customer segmentation.
Expect occasional travel within Europe to support market assessments, cross-functional workshops, and local stakeholder alignment.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the commercial lead in project teams, coordinating with analytical teams, sales managers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance, ensuring strong collaboration and alignment. Present and defend recommendations to senior management.

In addition, we imagine that you:
• Master’s degree in International Business, Business Administration, Strategic Management, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in commercial strategy, business development, or management consulting in an international environment.
• Experience leading teams and managing personnel effectively.
• Fluent in English, with strong international communication skills.
• Proven experience in market analysis, pricing strategy, and portfolio management.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking, translating data into actionable plans.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Project management skills to coordinate cross-functional initiatives and market launches.
• Strategic mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
• Experience collaborating with international, cross-functional teams across multiple markets.
• Adaptable and resilient, able to thrive in dynamic market conditions.
