Get a glimpse of the team and role
You’ll become part of our international Compensation & Benefits team, which currently includes a Group Head based in Denmark and a C&B Specialist in Hungary. Together, you’ll collaborate closely with senior managers across the Abacus Medicine Group, as well as colleagues from People & Culture, Legal and Finance. Externally, you’ll partner with trusted advisors such as Korn Ferry, Deloitte, and various insurance and pension brokers to deliver high-quality, compliant and competitive reward solutions.
On a daily basis, you’ll be working from our office in Alkmaar, where you’ll collaborate closely with local and international colleagues. From time to time, you’ll also travel to our headquarters in Denmark or visit other offices in countries such as Hungary, Belgium and Germany to connect with teams and drive cross-market initiatives. During your first year, you will take a key role in implementing the EU Pay Transparency Directive, developing frameworks, ensuring compliance, and aligning our compensation practices with new regulatory standards. All while promoting fairness and consistency across the organization.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and governance of global compensation and benefits strategies, ensuring alignment with local legislation and cultural nuances;
- Taking end-to-end ownership of job evaluation, pay structures and equity analyses, driving fairness and competitiveness across markets;
- Designing and implementing C&B frameworks in new markets to support Abacus Medicine’s global expansion;
- Managing relationships with external partners and vendors;
- Acting as a trusted advisor and mentor to leaders and colleagues.
Fuel for your success in the role, we imagine you have:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field;
- Several years of experience in a similar role, within an international company;
- Global HR Knowledge, including understanding of employment legislation, market practices, and cultural nuances across multiple geographies;
- Knowledge of the Mercer and/or Hay methodology is a big advantage;
- The following competencies: strong in collaborating & strategic thinking and effective in communication & stakeholder management;
- Excellent communication skills, both in Dutch and English. French is a plus;
- A valid work permit and residence in the Netherlands.
