The opportunity

As our new Senior Business Development Manager Italy, you will play a key role in driving business development, sales growth, and supplier relations in the Italian pharmaceutical market. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, and you will also act as the Responsible Person (RP) for our Italian warehouse, safeguarding compliance and ensuring smooth operations.

We would like you to:

• Define, develop, and implement strategies to scale up sales and sourcing in the Italian market
• Manage, support, and grow the local sales team
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders
• Develop and implement standardized processes to ensure scalability and efficiency
• Gather and analyse market intelligence to guide strategic decisions
• Act as Responsible Person for the Italian warehouse, taking ownership of the Wholesaler License and ensuring GDP and QA compliance
• Collaborate closely with the Southern European team to align local activities with regional and global goals

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Proven experience in leading and developing teams
• Ability to translate insights into effective actions and strategies
• Familiarity with CRM systems, sales tools, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI)
• Compliance-focused mindset with attention to detail
• Proactive, curious, and goal-oriented with strong relationship-building skills

Your qualifications:

• Degree in Pharmaceutical Studies (Chemical Engineer or Pharmacist)
• 5–8 years of experience in business development within the Italian pharmaceutical sector
• Experience in Quality Assurance tasks is a plus
• Fluent in Italian and English; Spanish and/or Portuguese is an advantage
